ここ１ヶ月は家の改築の手伝いがメインでした。しばらくアントワネットがいなかったためアンドレと二人で黙々と働いて。いつものチームワークで大分進みました。大工仕事も９ヶ月経つと大分慣れました。どんな時にどういう道具を使えばいいか分かってきて、足場を登るのも楽しいです。久しぶりの石細工にハマり一人で黙々と作業をしていました。水準器を使いながら、色々な型の石を使って調節するのに夢中になってしまいます。仕上げに砂利を継ぎ目に入れてホウキで綺麗にする瞬間が快感です。やっぱり仕上がると嬉しいですね。


I've been helping more with the renovation of the house this past month. For a few weeks it was only me and André since Antoinette was away but with our usual teamwork, we made great progress. After nine months being here, I've gotten used to carpentry little by little, now knowing which tools to use properly. I even enjoy going up scaffoldings. I haven't done masonry in a while so I really got into it. Using the level and adjusting the stones - it's a long process which requires a lot of patience but I enjoy it. It's almost meditative. The most satisfying part is filling the joints with the pebbles at the end and cleaning it off with the broom. Ah, the joy of working on something and seeing the end result.
