とっても寒いです。今朝も-6°C。
さすがにニューヨークには負けますが．．．。でもニューヨークのように建物の中の暖房がキツ過ぎて中ではTシャツ、外ではダウン、という感じではなくここでは：ムートンブーツにFalkeの登山用靴下（友達にもらったお餞別が大活躍）、ヒートテックの長袖、普通の長袖、ウールのカーディガン、その上にフリースのジップアップ、そしてマフラー．．．雪だるま状態です。普段ものすごい薄着の私にはあり得ない重ね着です。ちなみにアントワネットはフリースを３枚重ね着。それぐらい寒いのです！
家の中には暖炉とストーブが一つのみなので家の中でも上↑の格好です。そして夜も絶対に靴下を履いて寝ない私がフリースの靴下を履いて毛布４枚重ね。でも暖炉のパチパチなる音と木が燃える香りがたまらなく幸せです。寒くても田舎の冬、という感じがして好きです。
It was freezing this morning... 20°F. Although, probably not as cold as New York. I never wear layers but here, I am bundled up in layers of shirts, a wool sweater AND a fleece zip up with my new favorite FALKE German hiking socks. Lovely Antoinette wears three layers of fleece zip ups - that is how cold it is in the countryside! But the crackling sound and scent of the wood burning in the fireplace is soothing. Even if it's freezing, it's very 'wintry' and I kind of like that.
